Innovative products

The foundation for today’s Hörmann Company was laid in the 1950s with the industrial production of a new type of garage door: the “Berry” up-and-over door. In the 1960s, space-saving, vertically opening sectional doors for garages, as well as for industrial and commercial buildings, initiated a development with a promising future. Since then, the product range has been extended systematically. Today, it includes well-known classics, plus rolling shutters, folding, fire, and high-speed doors, door operators and controls, as well as loading technology systems, fire and smoke-tight door assemblies, entrance and internal doors, canopies and frames.
In the same tradition Shakti Hormann’s has launched a range of innovative products recently which include a range of Fully Glazed Fire and Smoke check doors, with both Indian and British certifications, a first of its kind in India. The slim profile offers architects possibilities to design areas with maximum ventilation as the doors are available with top lites and side lites with a 120 minutes rating.,
Furthermore to cater to the need for sterile doors in hospitals and clean room areas the new Hörmann Automatic Sliding door with sensors, has been launched. It finds vital applications in major industries viz. pharmaceutical, food processing, cold storage, ware housing and logistics and is a robust product with low levels of maintenance.
Hörmann believes in being proactive. Its latest offering, the “PortaMatic” door operator (automatic) can be retrofitted to any existing door in minutes and allows for unhindered passage to persons with disabilities. With the new ‘rights of persons with disabilities bill 2016’ passed by the Government of India, stress has been given to ensure accessibility in public buildings (both Government and private) and Hörmann is geared towards serving this cause.
