SUSTAINABILITY

END-OF-LIFE CARE FOR OUR DOORS

At Shakti Hörmann, responsibility extends beyond manufacturing and installation. We design our doors with their full life cycle in mind, ensuring that when they reach the end of their usable life, they can be managed in a way that minimises environmental impact and supports responsible material recovery.

STEEL DOORS

Designed for Circular Use

Steel is one of the most recyclable materials available, and our steel doors are built to support long-term reuse and recovery.

End-of-life options include:

  • Reuse in secondary or non-critical applications
  • Recycling through standard steel recycling streams
  • Handing over to authorised scrap processors for safe and regulated handling

WOOD DOORS

Designed for Responsible Disassembly

Our wood doors combine timber with durable metal components, allowing for multiple responsible end-of-life pathways.

End-of-life options include:

  • Reuse in alternate applications where feasible
  • Removal and separate recycling of hinges, fittings, and metal parts
  • Energy recovery or disposal in approved facilities, as per local regulations
  • Handing over to authorised scrap vendors for safe processing

WHY THIS MATTERS

  • Supporting a Circular Economy: Extending material life and enabling reuse and recycling wherever possible
  • Reducing Environmental Impact: Minimising landfill waste and supporting responsible material recovery
  • Shared Responsibility: Encouraging informed disposal choices that align with sustainability goals

At Shakti Hörmann, durability goes hand in hand with responsibility — ensuring that our products continue to add value, even at the end of their service life.
